Senior voices in business came together on the 9th November at the CBI’s annual conference at the Grosvenor House hotel on Park Lane. With expectation that Jeremy Corbyn would provide the keynote address and an agenda that suggested a forward thinking and lively debate on ‘Disruptive Innovation’ and the EU Referendum, I was keen to attend.
The day started early with a live interview on Bloomberg Business News on the topic that would dominate much of the day – the EU Referendum and Britain’s place within the EU. I am constantly asked whether remaining in the EU is better for business and was pleased to be able to share my view, and the view of the industry, that Britain IS better off as part of a reformed European Union. Little did I know at this point that David Cameron would be interrupted by two vocal anti-EU protestors during his key note address to the audience!
